About This Place

Located in the heart of Albi at 43 Lices Georges Pompidou, Pitaya Thaï Street Food invites you on an authentic culinary journey through vibrant Thai flavors served with a contemporary fast-food twist. Specializing in traditional Thai street cuisine, this fast food restaurant brings the hustle and bustle of Thailand’s markets to France, offering a delicious menu that balances freshness, spice, and bold aromatics in every bite.

The menu is a true treasure trove for lovers of Southeast Asian cuisine. Signature dishes like the Pad Thaï feature perfectly stir-fried rice noodles with a harmonious blend of tamarind, peanuts, and fresh herbs that awaken your palate. For those seeking texture contrasts, the Kao Pad Crousty and Crunchy Nems offer beautifully crisp coatings that give way to tender, flavorful fillings, whether chicken or vegetables. Seafood enthusiasts will appreciate the Tempuras de Crevettes, where golden, crunchy shrimp tempuras pair delightfully with zesty dipping sauces. The Bo Bun offers a satisfying mix of vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, and grilled meats, making each forkful a fresh explosion of vibrant taste.

One of the standout features at Pitaya Thaï Street Food is the array of Thai curries—both the creamy Yellow Curry and the rich Red Curry, served generously with your choice of chicken or succulent shrimp. The coconut milk base in these dishes delivers a soothing, velvety richness, enhanced by the colorful medley of vegetables like red onions, peppers, and fresh coriander. Accompanied by fragrant white rice, they offer a comforting yet exotic dining experience.

Whether you choose to indulge in the tangy, savory Brochettes de Bœuf Citronnelle or venture into sweet territory with desserts like the Glacé Matcha or Mango-passion, Pitaya Thaï Street Food treats your taste buds with a comprehensive palate of delights. The Chicken Rice or Beef Thaï Rice Bowl add further variety, perfectly balancing familiar comfort with the vibrancy of Thai street fare.

The atmosphere is casual and inviting, ideal for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner with family and friends. As highlighted by satisfied customers, it’s a welcoming spot especially for families, with fast and attentive service that accommodates even the youngest diners. Laura appreciates the family-friendly approach, mentioning their toddler-friendly experience, while Michelle praises the consistency and warmth of the staff, making every visit smooth and pleasant.

True to the spirit of street food, Pitaya Thaï Street Food combines speed and flavor without compromise. Their efficient takeaway service is perfect for those on the go but craving authentic Thai tastes that don’t sacrifice quality. The staff’s friendliness and patience create a comforting environment that invites you to return again and again.

While a few diners, like Anhsar M, note small moments such as slightly undercooked noodles promptly rectified by staff or suggest improvements like student discounts for kids, these personal touches underscore the restaurant’s commitment to guest satisfaction and continuous enhancement.

For adventurous eaters like Derrick, the variety of Southeast Asian dishes offers a refreshing departure from conventional European menus, complemented by a thoughtfully curated beverage selection including Asian beers. At Pitaya Thaï Street Food, every visit is an engaging, flavorful experience that captures the heart of Thai street cuisine right in Albi’s vibrant culinary scene.

Padthaï is good. My noodles came uncooked but they rectified it. The rice in tomato sauce was bit bland but goes well with meat. I would suggest the student discount for kids.

Just had a Cambodian dish in a Thai restaurant while drinking a Chinese beer! But to be fair it was pretty spot on and a refreshing change from Frenchie or western food.

Excellent food, especially for takeaway. Quick and efficient. A great place to follow on their apps, and the staff is very friendly. They have patience and kindness. A great find which offers consistency with not only food but service.
